Welcome to BeeUtiful Beefield
Boondockers - Welcome to "Beefield". This is rural Georgia; out in farming country yet only 15 minutes from town. If the weather cooperates you could be blessed with a stunning sunrise view over the fields across the way, East. Please try to limit same-day requests to just one night. We only enabled them to help out our fellow travelers with last-minute changes of plan. We enjoy offering a boondock spot. We understand the challenges of finding a place to stay when you're on the road, especially between destinations. Please note - this is a roadside spot. (See photograph). It may not be glamorous, but it's convenient! It's a grassy, easily accessible, firm and flat roadside pull-off (with water and 30A electric hookup available if needed. Sorry, water not available during freezing conditions).
CONSIDERATIONS: "Beefield": ~ We are retired beekeepers but we still have a beehive nearby on the property. If you are allergic; this may not be the best location for you to stay. ~ We have a friendly dog, cats and some chickens on the property. ~ We sometimes have eggs available so do ask if interested.

5 Stars
Warning: Nearby Neighbors' Farm Dog: The immediate neighbors have a big white Great Pyrenees. He is behind an 'invisible fence' but will cross over to our property if suitably motivated. He is not the friendliest. Keep away from the paved driveway area.
WHAT TO EXPECT: This is a roadside pull-off site: ~ We are fortunate to have a long flat verge (grass area at the side of the road) which allows us to offer a place for you to stay. It's a fairly quiet rural road. ~ We are in farming country so during the day there will likely be tractors, 4-wheelers, UTVs and pickups more than cars. We sometimes logging trucks or big agri-equipment will be passing by; it all depends on the season and what's happening on nearby farms.
Country Wildlife:
Bullfrogs and cicadas seasonally serenade the darkness.
Mosquitoes and gnats can be rather too plentiful. (Fortunately our gnats are annoying moisture seeking but don't bite; we have "eye-gnats" rather than the coastal "noseeum/ sand-gnats").
Ants (including fire-ants). Watch where you walk, especially if you have open footwear. Closed-toe shoes recommended.
Snakes. Be mindful as they are around. Most are useful non-venomous snakes that we're happy to see. However, while infrequent, venomous species are local.
Sun: ~Please be aware that the campsite is in full sun (great for solar). Sorry, but there is no shade available. ~ Canopies can be partially opened on the inward side only please, not out to the road (safety). ~ TIP: Watch your positioning between the Crepe Myrtle trees when parking if you want your canopy out.
Security:
Nightly power-company security night light nearby.
Fire pit lights by a switch
Bathroom external light by switch
Security cameras cover the property within the fence.
Beeutiful Bees: ~ We have recently (2024) retired our beekeeping business but if you have any questions we'd 'bee' happy to talk bees with you π
FYI: We sold Beekeeping supplies and equipment to backyard beekeepers and farmers rather than producing honey. We performed professional honey bee removals from property. Ruth was also Secretary of the local Beekeepers club and specializes in teaching and helping beginners.
TIPS: Google Map search "Beeutiful Bees" for easy navigation! Approach from the North (Old River Road/Gwinnett Crossing) headed South on Stilson Leefield Road towards Leefield so that your camper entrance will face AWAY from the road to the West or facing the fence. Do not block the gate with your tow vehicle. It is a working farm. The power and water are on the fence North of the gate.
We see that one out of 50 visitors made a noise complaint. Noise? - Seasonal training on Fort Stewart can sometimes (but rarely) be heard (usually around January) and sounds just like very distant thunder. (It's a good 40 miles or so away so not a disturbance, more a confusing curiosity on a sunny day!). On occasion young men will modify their pickup truck and remove the exhaust and muffler to create a noise. We are sorry. If we could we would have such vehicles impounded. This is what was once referred to as "Reckless youth." If you like call the Sheriff if it happens while you stay. Your locations is the BeeUtiful Bees Apiary, 8279 Stilson Leefield Rd, Statesboro. Their direct line is 911 or 912.764.8888

PETS (mostly ours): Dog: We have a very friendly female husky, medium-sized, approx 60 lbs). She loves people, especially kids, and gets on great with other dogs, and cats. Cats (1+1): Our calico & white fluffball is becoming more friendly but she does like to run and hide under vehicles! The neighbors' cat is a little brown / gray tabby and she's VERY friendly and often around to greet our guests too. She might jump in your camper! Chickens: Watch out for them free-ranging on occasion. Avoid any rooster. Honeybees: We only have one hive on our property these days . They're not always friendly - it depends on the season, food availability, etc. Hives can be an attraction and a danger, especially to pets and young children. Please keep away from the beehive and in particular do not walk in front of them or across their flight line. If you're interested and would like to know more about bees we'd 'bee' happy to share our knowledge. Bees do not fly in the dark, not in the cold (below 55 F), not in the rain.
Pets (neighbors): We've already mentioned their dog and cat... they also have a pot-bellied pig that you may see wandering around! Enjoy yourselves and wake early enough to catch the sunrise to the East across the field! Thank you.

Beefield is Hosted By MPRangers. Boondockers Welcome Member since Mar 2021. We are LEGENDARY HOST
We are a retired husband and wife team. Once upon a very long time ago.... a US Army 82nd Airborne Provost Marshal MP and later an A Company 1/75th Infantry Ranger, then a Fortune 500 computer operator, later a gov't IT director, then corporate CIO, a Blackwater operator and then retired to enjoy rural life with his former HR / project manager and extreme sports enthusiast English wife. Both of us are former Boy Scout leaders and avid tent campers. We grew into an RV a few years ago (beyond 50, as setting up a tent and sleeping on the floor just got less appealing!). We love being outdoors and our home in rural coastal GA is surrounded by farms and wildlife. We have bees, a dog, a cat and a few chickens. (Yes, the birds and the bees!). Life is good. We attend church, love traveling (in 2025 we traveled through 22 US states, coast to coast) and we enjoy hosting fellow campers with our Boondockers Welcome site (we've met some great people!).
At Beefield, our home host location, you may still find a beehive. We are now retired from beekeeping business (letting us travel more!) but we'll gladly talk bees with you if you're interested. (We sold beekeeping supplies and equipment to local backyard beekeepers, taught beekeeping and performed professional honey bee removals). Helping beginners was a speciality!
Our Original Home Towns: Lodi California and Manchester England. We both have seen a great deal of the world.
Favorite Boondocking Locations: We have stayed at over 60 Boondockers Welcome and Harvest Host locations for the amazing people we've met along the way. (that's why we host). You must visit the GA mountains, NC Appalachia, Blue Ridge mountains, Shenandoah valley, Black Hills of South Dakota. Then try Idaho and Wyoming for real boon-docking, dry camping. (We like the mountains!). Skills or Expertise to Share: Both: Beekeeping, Christian Testimony. Mark: Solar, Security systems, IT, Farming, Construction. Ruth: Wildlife, Gardening, Pollinators, things British.
Perfect peaceful stop with friendly hosts and lovely viewsβideal for an affordable overnight accommodation.
